The Tasting Agreement
What you’re agreeing to in plain English.
When you tap I agree before a tasting in the app, this is everything it covers. Not every item applies to every tasting — each one says when it does.
Version 2 · Updated October 2026
Allergens and ingredients
When it applies: Every tasting
Allergen labels are generated automatically. They cover six common groups — peanuts, tree nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs, and fish/shellfish — and can be incomplete or out of date. If you have food allergies, intolerances, or sensitivities, you check each sample's full ingredient list before tasting. “See ingredients” is available on every sample, any time during the tasting.
Your choices: Skip any sample, any time. Palate Party does not guarantee allergen accuracy.
Minimum age
When it applies: Hosting a venue tasting the venue marked as age-restricted
Everyone must be at least 13 to join any tasting. For a venue tasting that includes age-restricted items, the host confirms they meet the venue's own minimum age before creating it. Palate Party doesn't verify age — the venue handles that in person, the same way it would for any other age-restricted sale.

Sharing with the venue
When it applies: Venue tastings
The venue sees grouped results from its tastings: ratings, rankings, whether guests correctly guessed a sample's brand, and comments. Comments are shown to the venue as written, without your name attached. Aggregate results only appear once enough tastings have run that no single guest's answers stand out. Comments may be summarized with automated tools to help the venue read them faster — the tools never see your name either.
Your choices: Required to join a venue tasting, same as checking in at any in-person event.
Anonymous brand trends
When it applies: Every tasting
Your ratings can be folded into grouped, anonymous trends we share with food and drink brand partners — for example, “people aged 25–34 preferred X over Y in blind testing.” Never your name, never your individual answers, never tied back to you by anyone outside Palate Party.
Your choices: Opt out any time in Account → Privacy, or on our Privacy Choices page. Opting out never affects your ability to play.
The optional age-range question
When it applies: After the reveal, at some tastings
We may ask which birth-year range you fall into, so we can show you how your ratings compare with people your age. It's entirely optional — skip it, or answer “prefer not to say.” We store a range, never your exact birthday. Answers that could include minors are never used in brand trends.
Your choices: Change or remove your answer any time in Account.
